Journey through Morocco: From Fez to the Sahara Desert via Ifrane, Azrou, and Erfoud

Fez → Ifrane → Midelt → Ziz valley → Erfoud Merzouga desert.

Departure from Fez to Merzouga in southern Morocco. On the way you will visit the Moroccan Switzerland, Ifrane and pass through a forest of century cedars in Azrou in the Middle Atlas. Late afternoon you will arrive to your destination in the Sahara desert, a charming Auberge situated in Erg Chebbi dunes, where you will taste a typical moroccan dinner.

Day 2

Desert Adventure: Exploring Merzouga, Khamlia, and Erg Chebbi

Merzouga → Khamlia → Erg Chebbi Tour

You will have the whole day to explore the Erg Chebbi region in the Sahara Desert. Visit a local musical village Khamlia, share a tea with a nomadic family, discover the fossil, see the biggest lake in the area and the beautiful oases in Merzouga village. You will also have the opportunity to experience a part of the former “Dakar” offroad in the dunes. Dinner and night at a saharien stylish room at a beautiful Auberge.

Day 3

From Merzouga to Fez: A Scenic Journey through the Ziz Valley and Middle Atlas

Merzouga → Erfoud → oasis Palms → Middel atlas Fes

After breakfast, start the trip towards Fez. On the way you will pass Errachidia and the Ziz Valley where you will stop to take some photos of the Morocco’s largest Oasis. And pass the Tunnel de Légionnaire built by French colonial troops in the 1930s in order to create a passageway to the Ziz Valley. The gorge is a result of the ziz river cutting through the atlas mountains. arrive to Fez late afternoon.
